To kick off the ETHDenver conference in Colorado, the Decentralized AI Society (DAIS) announced the addition of Lamina1, Shiza.AI and Caesar.xyz to its community of organizations. The three new members join DAIS’ expanding ecosystem of key industry players dedicated to building an AI economy that’s open, transparent, and free from centralized domination.
Following the announcement of Hedera, the NEAR Foundation, and the Secret Network Foundation as its newest members, decentralized digital content platform Lamina1, AI search engine Caeser.xyz, and Shiza.AI, a producer of digital intellect agents illustrate a significant new chapter in DAIS’ journey. The latest members and their respective platforms add unique elements to the DAIS community with a focus on how AI intersects with creative industries and how people can safely use it to fulfill their wants and needs in the digital economy.
In welcoming these new members, DAIS is continuing to highlight the decentralized AI movement’s opportunity to capitalize on a shift toward agent-focused AI development. In a statement, Michael Casey, author, journalist, former chief content officer at CoinDesk, and Co-Founder at DAIS, emphasized that the commoditization of large language models spurred by the open-source offerings of DeepSeek will prioritize the development of more specialized tools and agents that serve people’s distinct needs. This trend, he said, will strengthen the case for the trustworthy, self-sovereign, and provably confidential approaches that DAIS champions.
“By adding projects that touch consumers and businesses in both mainstream and crypto domains and which develop agents optimizing people’s economic and personal outcomes, the foundation DAIS laid with its initial membership of decentralized computing and network providers is finding new expression at the application layer. That’s where the most beneficial utilization of AI will occur,” Casey said.
Joining DAIS as a founding member, Lamina1 is a creator platform co-founded by the legendary author and futurist Neal Stephenson, who coined the term “metaverse” in his seminal novel Snow Crash and foresaw the use of personalized AI Agents in his 1995 novel Diamond Age. Lamina1 joins the society with the belief that AI represents an opportunity to supercharge the process of creating new IP and maximizing its value – but only if these tools respect the IP rights, privacy, and decentralized principles on which the platform is based.
“We see so much opportunity to leverage AI in conceiving and creating valuable new IP, and we believe branded agents and AIGC will breathe new life into old IPs,” said Lamina1 Co-Founder and CEO Rebecca Barkin. “However, the best creators in the business want full transparency in rights, ethics, and ownership–they have no interest in ceding more power to corporations that voraciously mine their work while telling them it’s worth nothing. Lamina1 offers a new content economy: a creator-owned platform for content development, discovery, and monetization to privilege the storytellers who enrich our lives. We are thrilled to join hands with others in the industry who recognize this is the time to stand for something.”
Shiza.AI and Caesar.xyz will assume gold member status within the Society.
“As artificial intelligence floods the global economy, we must create an intuitive environment in which the human experience is honored as the foundational expression of value. SHIZA. which means “gift” in Arabic, seeks to create that model and leave it as a legacy for humanity,” said Syed Hussain, CEO of SHIZA. “DAIS’s vibrant community of builders, each of them committed to a humanity-first, decentralized approach to AI development, provides the perfect pool of partners with whom to work on that mission. With them, we look forward to showcasing how human intellect can be a core tool for value creation.”
“In unlocking access to real-time, contextually relevant information from the most expansive and dynamic knowledge repositories ever assembled, Caesar can help AI agents attain unprecedented levels of adaptability and precision,” said Caesar.xyz founder Mark McKenzie. “But for the wider economy to seize this opportunity, we must break free of centralized data monopolies and the existential challenge they pose to innovation and individual agency. The future of AI must be built on a foundation of self-sovereign data ownership and decentralized intelligence. DAIS is fighting that fight, by fostering a collaborative ecosystem to advance solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in AI—ensuring knowledge remains an open resource rather than a commoditized asset controlled by a select few.”
The induction of these new members takes place ahead of the annual ETHDenver conference focused on Ethereum developers in Denver, Colorado. DAIS will engage in programming in and around the event to convene the rapidly growing DeAI community and encourage information-sharing, common solutions, and interoperability. These community gatherings are inspired by the idea that collective and collaborative approaches are needed if this industry is to effectively compete with the centralized players and ensure the benefits of AI are widely distributed.
In pursuit of that mission, DAIS’s core areas of focus include:
- Sponsoring research to tackle the challenges of decentralized machine learning and data processing.
- Exploring innovative financing models for decentralized AI (DeAI) startups, including tokenized funding and traditional venture capital
- Working with policymakers to craft fair regulations that support the DeAI sector and prevent regulatory capture by entrenched tech giants.
- Bridging the gap between the crypto world and mainstream institutions.
- Promoting the benefits of decentralized AI over centralized alternatives.

About DAIS
The Decentralized AI Society (DAIS) brings together leading players in the decentralized AI ecosystem. It supports the development and adoption of AI products founded on self-sovereign data and identity, digital assets, open-source code, privacy-preserving models, edge computation and security, and decentralized infrastructure. DAIS’s mission is to share information, organizational heft and resources to ensure the internet of AI is built by and for the benefit of human beings rather than a few giant data-hogging social media companies.
