Spanish football club Barcelona has signed a partnership agreement with Chiliz, a blockchain-based fan engagement platform for sports & entertainment.
The partnership will enable fans to interact with the club in an innovative way through Chiliz’ fan voting and rewards platform Socios.com.
Fans will be able to participate in different surveys and polls about the everyday activities of the club using cryptocurrency called ‘Barça Fan Tokens’.
The cryptocurrency will reportedly be named as BAR. 40 million BAR tokens are planned to be issued in Q2 2020 at €2 per token.
