Abu Dhabi financial regulator works on cryptocurrency regulatory framework
The Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) announced that it is reviewing and considering the development of a robust, risk-appropriate regulatory framework to regulate and supervise activities of virtual currency exchanges and intermediaries.
Several months ago the FSRA issued a guidance on its regulatory approach to initial coin offerings (ICOs).
Gibraltar will introduce world’s first ICO regulations
Reuters reported that Gibraltar’s government and Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) in the coming weeks will discuss how to regulate initial coin offerings. Authorities are aiming at establishing disclosure rules that require providing adequate, accurate and balanced information to anyone buying tokens.
Western Union is testing Ripple platform for money transfers
Bloomberg reported that global money transfer company Western Union is testing transactions with Ripple blockchain. Western Union CEO Hikmet Ersek confirmed that on a conference call after the company reported quarterly earnings results.
